Dalmatians

I have been involved with Dalmatians in conformation, obedience, agility and roadwork since 1985.  My interest in the breed stemmed from my interest in horses and the desire to find a breed that was purpose-bred as a companion for horses.  Although I was never able compete in a road trial, my Dalmatians were always true road dogs accompanying me on long trail rides and being constant companions at the barn. Dalmatians also inspired my graduate work at Princeton University.  My graduate advisor, Dr. Shirley Tilghman, knew that I had Dalmatians and lured me into the laboratory with the promise of working on the piebald locus in mice! Although I no longer breed Dalmatians, my background in mouse genetics and my training as a veterinarian have allowed me to perform research to help Dalmatians in other ways now...
